The world's a stage...
I'm in the latecomer's queue.
I am currently an undergrad in NTU. My major is psychology and the most common question asked when I reveal that fact is whether I can read his/her mind. Honestly, I cannot lah. Currently, I am daydreaming about my future hoping to achieve 2 things i enjoy alot in life: Theatre and Psychology (:
Studying Accountancy in NTU and living a second life in theatre, where (fortunately) the former will end in 2012 May. Believes that there is a connection between numbers and the arts, or maybe, I am just living in denial all the time.
Law student.
Currently experiencing "quarter-life" crisis.
Aspiring Rapunzel.
Carries an overwhelming amount of passion for an overwhelming number of things, coping with the limited amount of time.
Struggling against a degenerating capacity to remember, and aging year by year.
Like anybody else.
An undergrad at NUS.
Coming out with this line is harder than any paper I've ever written.
Some people say that I look like an ah-lian when I’m quiet and sounds like an auntie when I speak.
I embrace all these comments and aspire to be an elegant ah-lian and intelligent auntie!
Graduated from “The Brainforest of Clementi” with an Honours degree in Life Sciences. As I am currently learning to write and direct plays properly, I do not have any work that is worthy of mention as yet.
Sometimes we need to be crazy, to be human.
I started doing Theatre thinking that I want to do Film.
Now I'm studying Film determined to do Theatre.
Funny yea?

Recycling Day at AMK!
Yes, from the title you all can see we (Myra and I) went for the recycling day yesterday at AMK! It was held at some other places too, but AMK was the main venue. (Whats more, we live near there!) So yes, here goes:

the programme as follows.the various events:
This is the Recycling Contest, in which the person/group/school who donated the MOST recyclable items (by weight) will win! And yes, so I happily brought like 10 cans and a stack of newspaper down, thinking it's quite alot already! BUT look at the school at the first place, oh my gosh, if you can see clearly, it says 1425kg (THATS ALOT!) i think it weighs more than 1000 times of what i brought. Shameful?
Me with my environmental friendly bag and the beautiful pull-up banners!
Myra with the panels
This is the Design-your-nicest-bag contest (not sure of the real title of this contest though). As you can see, you just have to design a bag and submit to them! and the winner has a prize too I think? Those bags, simple yet pretty! Whats more, there's a meaning behind these bags. Be environmental friendly, will you? :)

One of the booths we saw. We only took one photo and this is it. St Nicholas Girls' selling second hand soft toys, textbooks. Its sort of a flea market kinda thing. Myra and I went around other booths and had much fun. We played the games, talked to people and got to know "strangers" (hahaha) who told us where to take photos and discussed about games etc! For those games we played, we won 4 can drinks and an environmental friendly bag in total! :D

Then this is the colouring contest! Ahhh, so cute and pretty pretty :) Those are coloured by preschool kids! I dont think I can colour that well...

This is another colouring area? We didnt really watch what they were doing. All I know is that those kids (okay we cant see many in this photo) had alot of fun doing it!
There were many, many pull-up banners there! So I took a photo of it.
And a bigger version of one of it. It talks about Global warming, read it!
Yes, and this is obviously a must have at any event relating to environment! The Recycling Bank! Beside this Recycling Bank was the collection area where they weigh your recyclable items etc. For my 10 cans, I got for ourselves two can drinks! So in totol, we had 6 can drinks and an environmental friendly bag! What a great deal :P

Anyway, while we were at the Recycling Bank discussing about the event, we saw this. Myra was disgusted (?) cos she felt it was so contradicting. Look at it carefully. The Recycling Bank was only beside it, so why do people throw their plastic bottles in the dustbin? Sigh. A question to ponder about mankind...

Finally, an overview of the event. There were really many people! We had to queue up for some time to play the games! At least this is a comforting thing. People actually do care about the environment. Wait, or... rather should I say, maybe some of them were there only to win the prizes?

Okay, last photo to end off the day. Despite the crowd, the disgusting sight (those in the dustbins!) we had tremendous fun and learnt much through this event. Lets all be environmental friendly, yeah?
Save the Earth!
